To simplify my course design work, I developed a system that is quick and easy to use. The Pattern Method of Course Design allows you to create interesting courses and exercises using patterns that you might not have thought to try. I have identified 22 of the most prevalent patterns in agility courses. They have been placed together on one CRCD 3 course in a way that makes it easy to select and move the patterns around (like puzzle pieces on a board) to create your own courses and exercises.

The patterns can easily be combined for quick and interesting jumping drills. Taken as separate exercises, you can practice each pattern to help you and your dog become more familiar with the patterns we see on competition courses. Taken as individual elements combined with other obstacles in a full course or exercise setup, handlers can learn how to identify and handle the patterns when presented with them in combination with other course challenges. There are two CRCD 3 templates, one using winged jumps, the other uses non winged jumps. Click on the links above to download both files to your own computer.

You must have Clean Run Course Designer 3 to use the templates.
