Power Paws Winter Camp 2006

News and Updates

12/05/06 - Camp Update:

There are 35 working participants registered now for camp. After looking at the numbers I decided that 11+ handlers per group was too many, so we are going to have 4 instructors and 4 groups for Camp. That is good news for you if you and your dog are energetic and like to have lots of runs, because there will be less handlers in each group! Jim Basic will be the 4th Instructor.

Details on our Camp Schedule are below. Please write if you have any questions, and see you all soon!

Winter Camp Details

There will be 4 instructors and 4 groups. Each group will spend 5 hours with each of the instructors. In order to evenly distribute the 5 hours with each instructor, the sessions are broken into 2 and 3 hour time periods.

Groups will rotate to each ring after working with an instructor.

Group 1 will start in Ring 1 and then move to Rings 2, 3 and 4.

Group 2 will start in Ring 2 and then move to Rings 3, 4 and 1.

Group 3 will start in Ring 3 and then move to Rings 4, 1, and 2.

Group 4 will start in Ring 4 and then move to Rings 1, 2 and 3.

10/28/06 -- Important Camp Update

Because of low camp entries for Winter Camp 2006 we are restructuring camp and adjusting the final numbers of groups and instructors. My options are few in this reorganization plan. If I want to hold our event I need to structure the camp to fit the entries we have this year.

The Day One lecture/workshop has been canceled. Camp will be only three days. Friday through Sunday, December 8, 9 and 10.  Camp will be taught in more of a seminar format by myself (Nancy Gyes) as well as Rachel Sanders and Wendy Pape.  There will only be three groups and each group will work with an instructor for one full day.

The camper fees have been reduced  by the $75 Lecture day fee.

You will receive a refund for this amount at check-in.

Three day Working Camp:

$525.  Does NOT include lunch
$550. Includes lunch each day

Observing at Camp (includes lunch)

Three days-$195……..Two days-$135..…..One Day- $75

Lunch order forms as well as a handler dog questionnaires will be sent out by email in the next 10 days. Please write to me if you have questions or comments.

I look forward to working with you all at our camp this year and I know Wendy and Rachel feel the same!

See you soon!

Nancy Gyes
