6:45 class is canceled. It is about 102 up here right now. We are still having 8:15 class. It will be warm, but the sun will be down in the field at least:)
I am headed to Germany on Sunday to compete with Ace at the European Open. The event will be held on July 19 & 20. I will send updates home and hopefully Jim will let you know how we are doing. See you in a couple weeks.

Power Paws Summer Camp ROCKS!! Jasper (the Catahoula) and I had a total blast. We thoroughly enjoyed the people in our group, and I can't say enough about the instructors and what an awesome job they did of explaining things and getting us to work our dogs to their best ability. Thank you SO much --- we'll be back!

Understanding Weave Poles 101
Why is it that some dogs can learn weave poles quickly while others simply can’t get the job done no matter what you do or how much time you spend on it? This lecture focuses from the dog’s point of view, something that every good trainer/handler/instructor should do at every stage of an agility dog’s training.
Learn to identify what an efficient weaver looks like, how equipment used in the initial training process does affect the dog’s eventual performance and how different training methods can produce different types of weavers. Understand that weave poles can be split into three different behaviors. The most common methods of teaching the weave poles will be explored, looking at both the pros and cons of each method. Basic problem solving using a holistic approach will also be investigated.
This lecture is suitable for all levels of handlers and dogs. Please note this is a lecture format and not a working seminar. We shall be using Power Point presentation and video clips.

AM class cancellation:
Wednesday, February 20.
Both 9 AM and 10:30 calsses are canceled.
Mt Hamilton and parts of Alum Rock will be closed for the bike race coming from Modesto to San Jose. We have no way to know when Alum Rock will have periodic closures letting the dogs off of Mt. Hamilton onto Alum Rock and then Mckee. since delays to Alum Rock could be long, we cannot even confirm that students could reach Power Paws coming up the back way.

Monday night classes:
The weather is fine but the fields are pretty wet. We are hoping they will dry enough for class at 6:15 and 8 PM. This is just a heads up though to check back 90 minutes before your class to confirm that it is being held.
Moe's 4:30 class should be fine as you have use of the back field during daylight hours, but you still need to check back here at 2:30 for Moe's confirmation.
